When considering ERP and change management, the emphasis is on both people and process. We encourage the organizations we’re involved with to see ERP implementation as a chance for dramatic transformation.
It’s important to be concerned about how the work force will react to a new ERP system, how to gain consensus from all team members, and how sponsors can lead their people to success.
The process side is equally important. When embarking upon ERP selection, the goal is to eliminate waste. improve productivity, optimize existing resources, handle growth without adding resources, and streamline existing operations. A company can’t expect the ERP vendor to take on this responsibility.
The right approach to the team, the resources, the process and organizational commitment helps insure that staff can function as “change agents” within the company as opposed to those that block or resist change.
